Description

Bennett-Alexander and Hartmans Employment Law for Business, 5/e addresses law and employment decisions from a managerial perspective. It is designed to instruct students on how to manage effectively and efficiently together with full comprehension of the legal ramifications of their decisions. Students are shown how to analyze employment law facts utilizing concrete examples of management-related legal dilemmas this do not present clear-cut answers. The methods of arriving at resolutions are emphasized, so this when the facts of the workplace problem are not quite the same, the student can still reach a good decision based on the legal considerations necessary by law, which remain important.

Customer Reviews

Customer rating is 2 of 5  Employment Law for Business   2010-02-20

The book had a lot of markings. These were highlighted in an orange color which made it difficult to read. The seller did not mention that the book had all these markings in it. The price of the book was too much for the condition which it was in. With twenty more dollars, I could of brought a brand new book. I had purchased a used book from another seller and the condition of the book was like a brand new book and the price of the book was very reasonable.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  Great book for the non-lawyers in business   2010-02-18

This was my first exposure to employment law, so to speak, and this book is presented in a very easy to read manner for those of us who are not lawyers or studying to be lawyers. There are good case studies at the end to enhance one's understanding of how various elements of the Title VII laws are applied. I found it quite useful during my master's program.

Great Book..Talks about the law is detail and gives several cases to strengthen your understanding..
When going through the cases one can afford to skip some of the cases..

I was using the book for an Employment Law class and I found it difficult to work with - no in depth details on subject matter. Many cases and actual examples but I had to go elsewhere for the basic nuts and bolts of the subject. This book would better serve someone who is in pre-law because of the actual cases and examples. As a business management major, I don't believe it will be one I would refer back to for any reason.
